How do you tell the story of a destination beyond its postcard moments?

Over multiple assignments with Via Venture, I was commissioned to document journeys through Guatemala and Panama, creating photography and motion content that reflected the people, landscapes, and traditions that define each place. Rather than focusing solely on destinations, the work centered on the experiences that make travel meaningful, from remote villages and indigenous communities to volcanic landscapes, tropical coastlines, and everyday life.

Across several expeditions, our team traveled from the highlands of Todos Santos and the forests of Petén to the Caribbean waters of Guna Yala, working closely with local guides and communities to capture moments that felt authentic rather than staged. Whether documenting ancient Maya traditions, remote archaeological sites, coffee farms, or life along Panama's island archipelagos, the goal was always the same: to create imagery that reflected the character of a place through the people who call it home.

Working in remote environments often meant adapting to changing weather, long travel days, and lightweight productions designed to move quickly through challenging terrain. By combining documentary observation with a cinematic visual approach, the resulting imagery has been used across editorial features, destination marketing campaigns, and brand storytelling that encourages travelers to engage more deeply with the places they visit.
